Ever wished you had a powerful tool – at your fingertips – that could eliminate stress, anxiety and overwhelm and turn off all that crazy internal chatter that twists you up in knots?
Well, that’s exactly what EFT is!
What is EFT?
EFT (short for Emotional Freedom Technique and a.k.a tapping) is a mind-body tool that:
- releases tension from the body;
- neutralises negative emotions; and
- calms a racing mind.
And it is one of my absolute FAVE things in the whole entire world.
How does it work?
Physically tapping – with your fingertips – on certain acupressure points on the face and body activates the relaxation response by sending soothing signals to the amygdala.
(The amygdala is considered the watch-dog of our nervous system and is constantly looking out for danger. Once the amygdala has been told – via EFT – that everything is ok with this specific issue, he tells his army to stand-down and we feel WAY better.)
It is self-applied, quick, easy and unbelievably powerful.
What can I use it for?
Just about anything! It can be applied to present-day issues that are stressful or to stuff from years (or decades) ago that still bothers you.
The best part…
You can use EFT to train your brain and body to respond to certain triggers in a whole new way.
For example, if you always overeat at the end of a long, stressful day, you can neutralise that automatic response pathway in your brain and easily choose different behaviours.
